The White Coat Ceremony is the first major milestone of a pharmacy student’s journey toward graduation, which officially welcomes them into the profession of pharmacy — and this white coat celebration is our second of 2019! The University of Wisconsin–Madison School of Pharmacy moved this ceremony, which was typically held toward the end of PharmD students’ first year, to students’ first semester to mark their entrance into the profession sooner.

The white coats they’re given during the ceremony, and will wear throughout their four years in pharmacy school during clinical rotations, wouldn’t be possible without the generous donations of School of Pharmacy alumni and friends. Alumni, including Yolanda Tolson (BS ’95) and Kate Rotzenberg (PharmD ’07) also helped coat the future pharmacists, and 2019 Young Alumnus of the Year David Hager (PharmD ’05) shared his advice for an enthusiastic, productive career.
