Postdoc training award to further cancer research

Kimberly Hammer, postdoctoral research associate, in the laboratory of Paul Marker, assistant professor in the Pharmaceutical Sciences Division, has been awarded a postdoctoral training award from the Department of Defense-Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs to further prostate cancer research.

The two-year award titled “Role of Candidate Oncogene PDE4D in Prostate Cancer,” supports investigating the role of PDE4D in prostate cancer cells and in mouse models of prostate cancer. The proposal will also examine PDE4D as a target of potential anti-prostate cancer drugs.
