Philanthropy – June 2017

Earlier this year, the UW-Madison School of Pharmacy held its spring campaign for the Student Success and Support Fund. Alumni and friends had the opportunity to make a gift that provides a white coat to a first-year pharmacy student or provide a travel grant for students to attend professional conferences.

Donors who supported the white coat effort at $100 or more received a personalized name card that recognized them as a sponsor and was placed in the pocket of the white coat that students received at the ceremony in April. The travel grants allowed several students to attend spring conferences. The financial support to attend conferences such as ACCP, APhA, and ASHP are vital to professional development and networking with alumni and leaders in the industry and practice—all contributing factors that advance our students’ academic success and career placement.

I am happy to share that over 130 alumni and friends participated in the campaign donating more than $16,700 to the Student Success and Support Fund. Thank you to everyone who made the choice to give back to the future generation of pharmacists. The cumulative impact of all gifts really does make a difference. Thank you and On, Wisconsin!
