Philanthropy – August 2017

One of the focuses of my role at the UW-Madison School of Pharmacy is to meet and thank our generous donors on behalf of everyone at Rennebohm Hall. These generous individuals have given back to the School to impact the future of pharmacy.

Last month, Dean Swanson and I traveled to Suburban Chicago to meet with several alumni. We spent an afternoon with David Sanders BS ‘52; MBA ’56. Dave, along with his wife, Miriam, have been among the greatest donors to the UW-Madison School of Pharmacy. The Sanders’ have contributed to building Rennebohm Hall, established the David and Miriam Sanders Military Service Scholarship Fund for pharmacy students who served in the active military, and created the Hammel-Sanders Distinguished Chair Fund in Pharmacy Administration. Dave also volunteered his time as the first chair of the School of Pharmacy’s Board of Visitors. Professor Dave Mott BS ’88, MS ’92, and PhD ’95, the current Hammel-Sanders Distinguished Chair in Pharmacy Administration also joined us. Dean Swanson and Professor Mott reminisced with Dave and gave him an update on the School of Pharmacy and the Social Administrative Sciences (SAS) Department, in particular. Thank you, Dave and Miriam, for everything you have done and continue to do for the students, faculty, and staff at the School of Pharmacy!
