Lingjun Li, associate professor, and W. John Kao, professor, both in the Pharmaceutical Sciences Division were awarded the 2009 Vilas Associate Award. The Vilas Associate Award recognizes a faculty member’s scholarly achievements as well as the high quality of the research study proposed for the two-year period of support provided by the award.
The competition is open to tenure-track and tenured faculty, from the assistant professor level to professors within 20 years of their tenure date. Recipients receive research salary support for both summers 2009 and 2010, as well as a $12,500 flexible research fund in each of the two fiscal years.
