The Tang Research Group focuses on drug discovery—developing new therapeutics for the treatment of various human illnesses such as cancer, infectious diseases, and neurodegenerative diseases.
We work on various aspects of drug development research. Our current focus is on the development of novel degraders for various disease-causing proteins. We also study the mechanism of action and delivery methods for these novel therapeutics in cells and animal models. Here is a link to a story with a video that illustrates how degrader works.
Welcome
The Tang Research Group welcomes new graduate students and postdoctoral researchers who are passionate about interdisciplinary drug discovery research and making important contributions to human health. Students, postdocs, and staff scientists in the Tang group have expertise in both chemistry and biology. We work on a diverse range of disciplines such as rational drug design, synthetic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, biochemistry, and cell biology.
