Dr. Jiaoyang Jiang earned her PhD in chemistry from Brown University with Professor David Cane. Following that, Dr. Jiang performed postdoctoral research at Harvard Medical School in the laboratory of Professor Suzanne Walker. In August 2013, Dr. Jiang started her appointment as an Assistant Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences in the Drug Discovery core at the UW–Madison School of Pharmacy. She was promoted to Associate Professor with tenure in 2019, and Full Professor in 2024. Dr. Jiang is an active faculty trainer in several campus-wide training programs, including the Chemistry-Biology Interface (CBI) Training Program, the Biophysics graduate program, the Molecular and Cellular Pharmacology (MCP) Training Program, the Cellular and Molecular Biology (CMB) Program, the Molecular & Environmental Toxicology (MET) program, and the Cellular and Molecular Pathology (CMP) Program.
Dr. Jiang has received a number of awards, including Vilas Faculty Mid-Career Investigator Award, Distinguished Faculty Award, Vilas Faculty Early Career Investigator Award, American Chemical Society (ACS) Division of Carbohydrate Chemistry David Y. Gin New Investigator Award, and Young Chemical Biologist Award from the International Chemical Biology Society.
