Melgardt de Villiers, professor (CHS) in the Pharmacy Practice Division and Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, has been selected as chair-elect for the Teachers of Pharmaceutics Section of American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP). The mission of this Section is to enhance the delivery of pharmaceutical care by providing a forum for exchange of information and expertise that supports the discovery and promotes understanding of the unique body of knowledge known as pharmaceutics. Professor de Villiers will become chair and then immediate past chair. It is a three year commitment. de Villiers’ research interests include teaching pharmaceutics and developing novel nanometer and micrometer sized drug delivery systems.
