Darin Furgeson, assistant professor in the Pharmaceutical Sciences Division, and colleague Dr. Chris Brace, assistant scientist at the School of Medicine and Public Health and the College of Engineering, were awarded $70,000 from the University of Wisconsin W.H. Coulter Translational Research Partnership, for their proposal, “Microwave Thermal Ablation and Tumor Margin Directed Chemotherapy for Cancer Eradication.”
The funding forms a working partnership with the biomedical engineering department to promote, develop and support translational research via a number of initiatives, including funding promising research projects, increasing and supporting effective collaborations between biomedical engineers and clinicians, and developing and supporting sustainable methods for moving promising technologies into clinical application.
