Joshua M. Thorpe, assistant professor in the Social and Administrative Sciences Division, was awarded a $50,000 pilot grant from the Wisconsin Comprehensive Memory Program to measure medication adherence and barriers to medical care in persons with Alzheimer’s Disease and related disorders.
Co-investigators on the two-year project titled, “Measuring Medication Adherence and Barriers to Medical Care in Persons with Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders” include Dr. Betty Chewning, professor in Social and Administrative Sciences, and Dr. Carolyn Thorpe, research scientist in the Department of Population Health Sciences. The Wisconsin Comprehensive Memory Program (WCMP), led by Dr. Sanjay Asthana, is a unique program combining academic, clinical, and research expertise from the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Medicine and Public Health and the Geriatric Research, Education, and Clinical Center (GRECC) of the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin.
