Gantt wins travel award

Richard Gantt, a fourth-year pharmaceutical sciences graduate student, was distinguished by receiving the Jeremy Knowles Memorial Travel Award, sponsored by the American Chemical Society’s Division of Biological Chemistry.

The award was presented at the recent Bioorganic Chemistry Gordon Research Conference, where Gantt presented a talk titled “Exploiting Glycosyltransferase Reversibility for Nucleotide Diphosphate Sugar Synthesis.” Gantt, from Marietta, Georgia, works in the laboratory of Jon Thorson, professor of pharmaceutical sciences and the Laura and Edward Kremers Chair in Natural Products Chemistry.
